Alan Robert Lester is passionate about unlocking potential in all people he meets. Having spent more than 20 years in educational leadership positions he believes in the power of learning, but balances this with the systems and structures needed to ensure success. Alan is creative, also having run a business designing and making custom furniture and fittings. Alan has always grappled with the challenges of inequality and redress in South Africa, particularly given its unequal education opportunities. He has worked and consulted with various community organisations and in prisons to try and make a difference. Alan's personal motto is "if we are not growing, we are dieing!".
